Dianna Russini resigned from The Athletic after photos came out showing her getting pretty close with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. The pictures weren’t just casual either they showed them holding hands, hugging, hanging out by the pool, sitting in a hot tub, and even together on a rooftop at sunset. That’s what kicked off the whole ethics investigation, since she literally covers him as a reporter and both of them are married.In her statement, she basically says the media twisted everything, claims it was just normal “journalist-source interaction,” and says she stepped down to stop the noise not because she did anything wrong.
She’s acting like this is all just misunderstanding, but when you’re a reporter chilling poolside, holding hands, and hanging in a hot tub with a married source you cover… it’s not exactly shocking people think something’s off. For this, Dianna Russini should feel shame, shame, shame.
