The British heavy machinery company JCB has shattered the world land speed record for a modified tractor.
The “Fastrac Two” reached a top speed of 153.8 miles per hour. To achieve this land speed feat, five-ton machine rolling at such high speeds, engineers installed a turbocharged 7.2-liter diesel engine pumping out 1016 horsepower, a 3D-printed exhaust system that handles temperatures up to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, and advanced aerodynamics.

Back in 2019, one of its tractors, weighing around 5 tons, managed a peak speed of 153.771 mph during its record-setting run in the UK. After completing the run in both directions and Guinness officials verifying the attempt, the JCB Fastrac Two became the world’s fastest modified tractor, with a two-way average speed of 135.191 mph. Allowing JCB to achieve this monumental feat was a combination of Guy Martin’s driving skills and a whole lot of engineering wizardry.
