Alright guys… comes a time when we need a little extra help in keeping our “cannons” upright and functional – it’s just a function of getting older. Well even hard-rockin’, rock hard, rock stars like AC/DC need a little help.
AC/DC singer Brian Johnson had a bit of a close call Saturday during their show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
As the six replica Civil War-era cannons rose and moved forward from behind the stack of amplifiers behind the drum riser, the one on the far left tilted forward and a part of the muzzle disengaged and fell on the stage. It landed just behind Johnson, who jumped when it hit the stage, but then started the song as if nothing had happened.
Johnson commented about dealing with the cannons in a 2012 interview, saying, “I could write a book about about standing under the cannon for 30 years. These horrible sparks come out of them, at the end of the show I have burn marks all over my shoulders.”
