We are proud to name this week’s Laura Lee and Cutter Weenie of the week, Fox Sports baseball play-by-play TV announcer Joe Davis. For the past 4 games of the National League Championship Series, we have been treated to the expert play-by-play analysis of longtime baseball announcer Joe Davis. A series in which we saw your Milwaukee Brewers win the first-ever National League Pennant, giving birth to their first World Series appearance in 44 years. In fact, they didn’t just beat baseball’s world champions from the past two seasons; they swept them. The Dodgers didn’t have a chance! As Pat Murphey said, “They have a bunch of Hall of Famers, but we have a bunch of gamers, and the gamers won.”
So now you might be asking yourself what Joe Davis did? Maybe you were listening to the always incredible Brewer’s radio on our sister station WHBY; that’s the way Uecker would have wanted it. Well, you see, Joe Davis during the regular season isn’t hosting a national TV broadcast of the best baseball games; he’s the regular play-by-play man on Spectrum SportsNet Los Angeles, the regular season home of the Los Angeles Dodgers. That’s right, he’s the play-by-play guy for the Dodgers. So for 182 games, his job is to grease the wheels for Dodger fans, to go in depth on their greatness and generally be a Dodger fan kiss ass. It’s no wonder when the Dodgers showed any signs of life, including during last night’s Shohei Ohtani’s 3-run home run when they couldn’t help but glaze their seats, like Joe Davis and the announce team loved that so much their pants got a little tighter; they were so excited a Focker tried to milk their overly excited nipples. Then the Brewers do what they do and beat the Dodgers anyway, much to the entire Fox Sports MLB announce team’s disappointment. At least after the game, former Wisconsin resident Big Poppi came around and wore a cheese head.
So for Davis homering so hard on a national broadcast that even Vin Scully’s ghost had to tell him to chill out..
For Davis giving the Dodgers so much love that even their wives we’re like, dude, we’re married to them and you’re doing too much.
And for him spending the entire series telling Wisconsin it couldn’t beat LA, which is a bold thing to say to people who drink beer in subzero temperatures for fun..
We are proud to name Dodger Homer, Joe Davis as this week’s Laura Lee and Cutter Weenie of the Week.
