LITTLE CHUTE, WI — Fox Valley Metro Police are searching for the owner of a young German Shepherd involved in a dog bite incident. It took place October 7 around 3:45 PM at the Outagamie County Dog Park on French Road in Little Chute. Community Service officers were told the an adult woman was playing with the dog with a chew toy when she was bitten by the animal. The dog is described as a brown/black German Shepherd, approximately two-years old. Police have no description of the owner. Anyone with information about the dog or its owner is asked to contact the Fox Valley Metro Police Department at 920-788-7505.

Seven common council members introduce a resolution calling for an advisory referendum on November 8th on cannabis legalization. It would allow adults 21 and older to possess marijuana for personal use. It would also allow commercial regulation and tax of marijuana sales. Part of the resolution, as read by Appleton City Clerk Kami Lynch, says legalized marijuana would allow law enforcement to deal with more serious issues.

 

 

Lynch read another portion of the resolution pointing to the economic benefits of legal marijuana.

 

 

The resolution also points to surveys showing increased public support for marijuana legalization. The resolution is being sent to the city Safety and Licensing Committee for further consideration.

It replaces the dark, brooding, emo Batman of Robert Pattinson with the non-self-aware, campy-genius that is Adam West’s portrayal of the Dark Knight.

The faux-trailer comes complete with the Bat-tusi (Watusi) dance and cacophonic ‘POW!’ ‘BIFF!’ ‘WHAP!’ over the brutal fight scenes from the recent cinematic entry.  Joining West are the TV villains PENGUIN (Burgess Meredith) and RIDDLER (Frank Gorshin). PLUS the mash-up trailer replaces the newest Batmobile with the classic model.

Some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb – but not every day a trailer neo/retro trailer works as Bat-tastically as this one does.

We’re joined by Shelby Siebers, from the Oneida Nation and the Cultural Advisor-Native American Support Specialist for the Appleton Area School District within the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Department and Ashley Thiem-Menning, the Director of the Kaukauna Public Library. Ashley and Shelby share why the books were selected this year.

“For Indigenous voices to be highlighted through this book festival is super significant because I think that there’s so much to learn and there’s so much that we can acknowledge in these books,” Siebers shares. “I think they’re both really good representations of modern day Indigenous people and it’s going to give people a different perspective. It might be different from what you grew up learning throughout your life.”

Readers will also have an opportunity to hear from the authors of these books.

  • Tommy Orange will be visiting the Fox Cities in person on May 12th at 6:30p for a Q & A session and book signing. 
  • Dawn Quigley will be visiting virtually with participants via Zoom and Facebook on May 3rd at 6:30p and then again privately with area middle and high school students on May 6th at 1:00p.

Patrick DeHaan of Gas Buddy Dot Com says Monday usually has the lowest price and Wednesday and Thursday are the most expensive.

DeHaan thinks the reason for this could be because energy markets are closed over the weekend and gas stations see lower traffic early in the week. He says gas stations may pass any price increases along as the week goes on.

DeHaan calls 2022 a bumpy year at the pumps. He thinks drivers will see the highest gas prices in over seven years and some areas could set records.

The Foo’s new film was inspired by the making of their latest album, Medicine at Midnight.

Frontman Dave Grohl said in an official statement:

“Filmed at the same house where we recorded our latest album Medicine at Midnight (told you that place was haunted!) we wanted to recapture the classic magic that all of our favorite rock and roll movies had, but with a twist: hilarious gore that fucking rocks. And now, with the help of Tom Ortenberg and the team at Open Road Films we can finally let this cat out of the bag after keeping it our best kept secret for two years. Be ready to laugh, scream, and headbang in your popcorn. Studio 666 will fuck you up.”

Grohl even went on to tell a twisted tale to NME of terrorized tuning that took place in the house.

“We would come back to the studio the next day and all of the guitars would be detuned. Or the setting we’d put on the [mixing] board, all of them had gone back to zero. We would open up a Pro Tools session and tracks would be missing. There were some tracks that were put on there that we didn’t put on there. But just like weird open mic noises. Nobody playing an instrument or anything like that, just an open mic recording a room.”

Along with Foo Fighters members Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee, Studio 666 also stars Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega, and Jeff Garlin.

The film was written by Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary) and Rebecca Hughes and is directed by BJ McDonnell.

Studio 666 will be released in over 2,000 theaters across the U.S. on February 25th, 2022.

Disney / Pixar just dropped a teaser trailer for ‘Lightyear’ – the origin (toy) story for Buzz Lightyear.

With a pitch-perfect sampling of David Bowie’s ‘Starman‘ providing the soundtrack to this origin story it looks like Pixar has captured lightning… er … Lightyear in a bottle or rocket once again.

The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Disney’s Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.
