That headline makes me sound like I wrote it while suffering from a stroke. But it’s true.
An Iowa man was driving by a country club when he noticed a gosling in a pond, struggling to keep its head above water. Expecting that the baby goose was caught in a fishing line or trap of some kind, the man ran to his brother’s home, changed into swim trunks, grabbed an inflatable unicorn raft, and returned to rescue the bird. When he approached, he realized that the gosling was being held in the jaws of a huge snapping turtle. The man was able to bring the gosling to shore and coax the turtle off of it. Thankfully, the gosling was able to return to its flock… and even more thankfully, we have video of this odd combination.
Driving by a random pond, my family found a struggling gosling. Turns out it was in the jaws of a huge snapping turtle. Shoutout to @joecoppola3 for the assist! pic.twitter.com/z9gxMDqU2f
