Tourists spent 35% less in the Fox Cities last year.
The Greater Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau reports $333 million in visitors spending, down substantially from the record $511 million spent in 2019.
Director Pam Seidl tells Josh Dukelow on Fresh Take that the nature of tourism in the region, which relies on large events, was especially affected by the pandemic.
Seidl thinks it will take years for the local tourism industry to recover, provided enough attractions, hotels and restaurants survive the pandemic.
